August 2020

We've been trying out some meal delivery services, like Hello Fresh and then their cheaper version, Every Plate. This meatloaf was a big hit!

We love having "Girls Night Out"s. This particular evening we hit up Crumbl Cookies and enjoyed our treats at a park. When I noticedt the girls were both in purple shirts, I kept with the theme.

There was a stretch in August when the littles got really into playing school. Hollyn and Kylea were joint teachers with Kieran as their star pupil. They were a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Much better than my homeschool attempt. 😁😔 Kieran's "teachers" had him doing scientific experiments and writing it up in the "scientific method". There was reading and art and math... the whole shebang.

One lovely Sunday we got out of the house for a coastal hike. Between my back arthritis and bad knee, and asmatic kids and whatnot, we didn't go terribly far. The we started off in good spirits, with Kieran even exclaiming this was the BEST day of his LIFE. The thing is, the trail leads downhill to a cove, which means when you turn around it is UPhill the whole way. Sooo, you can imagine how the second half of the hike went.

Matchy Matchy

Tried to snap some photos of Emily and James with the grandparents. I feel like the Templeman grandkids never get photographed with them, or is it just my kids? I take photos when we visit the other grandparents, but my own parents we see often enough that I just don't think about it.

Earlier in the spring some friends in the ward were offering up plants they were getting rid of. I snagged some bulbs and a couple rose bushes. This rose put out two whole buds later.  This big one looked very Beauty and Beastish.

Sprinkled PNW wildflowers around in... May? Grew myself a big ol' crop of flowers on the slope. They looked great in person.

One of my favorite parts of our home church "Young PrimElder's Society" meeting is reciting the YM and YW themes. Love seeing my boys standing up and declaring these words together.

That day I died my hair burgundy. LOVED it! Photo doesn't capture the real color, but it was so shiney!

Camping = fun. Seeing Kelly's family = fun. Putting the two together = WAHOO!
We camped at Clay Creek on BLM land SW of Eugene. It was a pretty nice place - much quieter than the busy state campgrounds we typically camp at. I really need to do more BLM camping. Though we missed Brynne, it was a special treat to have Hannah, Keaton, and baby Nova join us!

Kieran's not getting scolded, lol. Nate's just a hand talker.

Kieran and Faith had LOTS of fun playing together in the creek "beach" in the campground.
