Disneyland 2022 - The Adventure (Finally) Begins

After having to delay our "Christmas Trip" due to Nate's achilies surgery, we finally left for our Disneyland Spring Break adventure. We didn't opt to pay the extra fee to choose our seats. Therefore, I sat next to Kieran, across the isle Nate sat with Ky and Hollyn, and Brennan and Asher sat together several rows in front of us.   DAY ONE: DISNEYLAND We started and ended at Disneyland, with CA Adventure in the middle. After getting dropped off, we made our way to security where an upsetting event ensued. I had brought with me a cane/chair, knowing that my acute back issues would rendure me unable to stand in lines for very long. (I can walk ok, but just standing kiiiills me.) The first security checkpoint dude said, "You can use that for walking, but you can't sit on it." I was like, "what? But the website says it's allowed." He said, "No, you can sit on the provided benches in the park, but you aren't allowed to sit on that....

That day they put us on a 2-hr school delayed start for snow. I have NEVER been so proud of myself for a build/install. Sure, anyone can assemble furniture from Ikea or whatever, but putting in a cat door in a glass sliding door? That was significantly more complicated than I ever imagined! From the get-go I gave up pretty much at the first step when I didn't understand what the instructions were talking about. I repeatedly told myself, "I'd better have Nate do this" and would save it for him. Then I'd think about how stressed he already was with so much on his plate, and I'd make up my mind to look again and try to figure it out. I'm telling you, over and OVER I went through that mental sequence. It was very difficult to persevere when I had such confidence that Nate could and would "solve my problems." But for his sake, I kept going. I had trouble finding certain tools (dremel, for example), and using them (dremel, for example) and understading...
