2 giant thumbs up for the hike to Drift Creek Falls! Everyone did a great job. The hike involves a gentle slope to a suspension bridge and down to the bottom of the falls. There is also a steep, rocky, muddy route down to the river at the bottom, which we all took to get back to the bridge. Kieran and Hollyn rocked it, and even I made it! 😲😁

June 10th, 2019. Brennan (14), Asher (11), Hollyn (8) and Kieran (6). This was, I think, the first time Kieran has actually performed. He and Hollyn have just a few minutes of the teacher's time tacked on to the lessons with the boys, and Kieran doesn't use a book yet. He's just shown pieces to practice. Except when he decides to learn something he wants to, and then he just practices on his own. The video at the end is from today (though he performed it and another piece at the recital.) Kieran approached Nate and said, "Daddy, I think I know why you're still alive. I think it's because Mom needed you because she didn't have a husband." 😂 This stems from a conversation last night when he asked if Nate had been alive in the 80s or 90s. We told him he had, and in fact was born in the 70s! Kieran had let that sink in and is super impressed that Nate has lived so long. I mean, as Kieran said, "But that was before tech was invented!" 

Nate made the boys help move a tree limb which was precariously close to falling on the roof, and also clean out the gutters while they were there. Now the boys discovered a new play area. 🙄🙈

The common view outside the kitchen window.  The common view outside as Nate works from home.  When the sun comes out for a balmy 54° day in February, we grill!  Starting our collection. We get 2/day these days!  Hollyn started "Cooking Academy" through OSU Kidspirit. She is having a ball and I'm enjoying someone else making dinner twice a week for a few weeks. ❤️ The chicks getting their first outside time.  Snuggles with "Snuggles".  Even the chicks are into Minecraft. 

I told Kieran that the girls were going to watch something in my room and maybe they'd let him join them. Kieran considered with interest and said, "I'm handsome enough, I could." In a conversation in which Kieran was advocating for me having another baby, he told me he felt like we needed another member of the family. Ky chimed in with "a girl!" and Kieran countered, "No, a Boy! I think you should have a boy baby so I have someone to play with!" I told him, "Kieran, you would be 8 years older than him, you guys wouldn't play together." He replied, "I know, that's why you should have laid him earlier!" 🥚🐔🐣😂 Kieran agreed to help me make dinner tonight - Broccoli Cheese Soup. It really did turn out well, he had a great time helping, and was Suuuuper proud of it. Unfortunately, the rest of the family was not suitably impressed.
